For the Love of the Breed

There are several sites to find specific information on the Epagneul Breton.  If you are looking here chances are you already have a French Brittany or had one.  And, if you are like us one is just not enough.  If you are new, a great source is the Club de Epagneul Breton www.ceb-us.com, this is a link to the breed standard www.ukcdogs.com/epagneul-breton

I am committed to breeding quality puppies from champion bloodlines that love to hunt as much as they love their families.  I will only breed selectively to assure quality offspring.  Our EB puppies will be able to be registered UKC and AKC, up to date on all shots, and tails docked.  I no longer remove the dew claws, please see the FAQ page for an explanation.

My husband and I both grew up with dogs while living on farms.  He had cows, I had horses.  Fast forward to our late forties (and 20 years pet-free), our friend had a litter of French Brittany puppies and told us it was time we grew up and got some responsibility.  That was 11 years ago and we are growing.

Our second EB, Elle, was developing into a beautiful dog with a great personality.  Before I made the decision to breed I looked at her very critically.  I sent Elle to trainers, got her TAN, confirmed, and OFA certificate.  I searched the country for the right sire for her pups.  I didn’t let convenience blur my vision for her litter.  The 2018 litter was outstanding and sold out in less than 8 weeks.  We will be breeding her to Ozzy de Plum Creek TAN WRT(Indy du Bois Courcol x Firefox de Plum Creek) which produced an excellent litter in 2021

We fell in love with the breed.  They are the perfect size and want to please so they are easy to train.  They can go all day long yet be calm in the home.  Our dogs are house dogs.  The 11 year old has slowed down, she, occasionally engages our 3 year old, Ozzy, but 5 year old Elle is more her tolerance level; they make us laugh every day.

The Epagnuel Breton (French Brittany) is such a nice dog I wish it was more well known.  I am not a judgmental breeder, yet an EB is not for everyone.  They need to hunt and they need to run, as they say a good dog is a tired dog.  A potential buyer needs to be aware of the needs of the breed to be a successful EB owner and have their relationship flourish.

Thank you for visiting.
